Well the taxes here are crazy (117%) so I’m sure you will be able to find the Champagnes I write up for less than $100. Because of the taxes, there are very few sub-$100 grower champagnes here, but there are some. I will likely be featuring several.

Ha, I like your theory on the JR article – bubbly is already expensive enough!

good stuff. have to admit, i’m just scratching the surface on grower fizz – but it’s been fun none the less. i am interested to see how this monthly series will go and if you’ll get into any thing sub $100 (USD/CAD). i made a joke about JR’s article a while back that it was a reverse psychology ploy to get the masses to stand down on their run on grower champagne, but i digress…

Love the Larmandier-Bernier “Terre de Vertus”- one of my favourite Champagnes. I think its very dry, lean, and chalky qualities aren’t what everyone looks for in a bottle of Champagne, but it’s definitely my kind of wine.

Not sure about Decanting – I like the romance of pouring from the bottle w/ Champagne, but I’d be curious about decanting results.

YAY! for Champagne, Could Drink that every day, What about decanting it? WLTV had a good one on that think I’ve done it once if I remember Correctly
